Born in Fifeshire on 7th October 1911, to Alexander Watson and Marion Noble LAW.
He lived in Newmarket with his wife Ada Laura LAW (née PETCH) [2nd May 1914] of Newmarket when serving with the Newmarket and Bury St Edmunds police

In the 1939 register they were living at 127 New Cheveley Road, Newmarket. Ada re married in 1964 to Kenneth G SMITH.


He was mentioned in despatches. Initially buried in near Veldbeek in Belgium (just NE of Schaffen) he was moved to Leopoldsburg on 16th August 1946

Alexander is buried in Leopoldsburg War Cemetery, Belgium Ref- VI.B.2
and commemorated on the Newmarket war memorial
and also commemorated on the Hechtel Memorial (many Welsh and Scots Guards are commemorated there)
